Troubleshooting
Problem
MSG_RIB_DESIGNMODE_OFF and MSG_RIB-FORMULA_WB_MODE seen in the IBM Planning Analytics ribbon after upgrading to PAfE 68. It should display as "Design Mode" and "Writeback Mode".
Symptom
Cause
Unrecognizable content detected in the "Language Resources" folder located within the Office Connection.
Environment
Planning Analytics for Excel version 68
Resolving The Problem
With Excel completely closed, Navigate to the Office Connection folder located at:
C:\Users\User you are logged in as\AppData\Local\Cognos\Office Connection
Once there, Delete the LanguageResources folder.
Launch Excel again and click the IBM Planning Analytics ribbon. You will notice the correct values displayed now.
It will also create a new LanguageResources folder that will re-initialize the Strings.
Note: IBM has accepted this as a defect in Planning Analytics for Excel version 68 and is working towards a fix which will be released in one of the coming releases.
