Problem
IBM Control Center Service level criteria (SLCs) are sending alerts that the Business Process data did not arrive in Sterling B2B Integrator (SI).
Symptom
The Control Center Workflow SLC is looking for values in XFER.MBOX_PATH and that the XFER.IS_PUT is true.
This information is not found in the IBM Control Center database but shows in the Sterling B2B Integrator dashboard.
Other events for the Business Process are found in IBM Control Center from Sterling B2B Integrator.
Cause
Settings in Sterling B2B Integrator had been changed to reduce the size of the database
Diagnosing The Problem
1. IBM Control Center tries to retrieve the business process history, protocol activity history, and Sterling File Gateway history from the SI node. This is done from 3 threads on the IBM Control Center side of the world, and hence 3 check point files corresponding to each.
2. For each business process, if there is protocol activity, IBM Control Center will correlate the data once it persists the same in its database.
3. What was found was IBM Control Center is unable to retrieve any protocol activity as protocol activity (session, transfer) is not being persisted to the SI database. The query returns with no results. IBM Control Center engine calculates the next polling date/time based on the last successful record it retrieved from SI, and moves forward.
4. Unless protocol activity is persisted to the SI database, you will keep receiving false alerts from IBM Control Center.
Resolving The Problem
On Sterling B2B Integrator set the “dmivisibility.visibility_coverage=” parameter in customer_overrides.properties to “All” or to "CommBase".
