The meaning of "*IFP" reported in the Routing Code field of the Fast Path Transit reports.

Question & Answer

Question

I am running the FP Transit Log report and receiving *IFP as follows in the FP Transit Log Report: Sync Point Transact Routing Logical Time Code Code Terminal __________ ___________ ________ ________ 14:45:30.00 TRANCODE *IFP What is the meaning of the *IFP?

Answer

Where the Routing Code is unavailable in the FP Transit reports we report the region type prefaced with an asterisk e.g. *IFP, *MPP. For IFP regions it is generally associated with a Syncpoint failure, more obvious in the Transaction Exception Log which documents the Syncfail code.
