MCS Product name changes since Sterling acquired Comergent

Answer

Formerly Comergent, it is currently known as Multi Channel Selling Solution under Sterling.

There are three main modules listed under MCS known as the base products or 'Solutions'

  • Sterling Catalog and Offer Management Integration Edition
  • Sterling Configure, Price, Quote Integration Edition
  • Sterling Order Management Integration Edition

Then there are 'A la Carte Modules':
  • Sterling Gift Registry
  • Sterling Selling Advisor
  • Sterling Service Contracts
  • Sterling Quotes
  • Sterling Marketing
  • Sterling Delivery and Service Scheduling
  • Sterling Store Inventory Management
  • Sterling Marketing Funds

Apart from this Commerce Manager, Profile Manager, and Product Manager are considered the foundation or base platform. They are not optional so in the Sterling world we stopped calling them out separately.

SDK is the software development kit that includes all the documentation (application, developer, reference guides, etc.) tutorials, javadocs, code examples, and design patterns needed for extending the application while maintaining upgradeability. The SDK is used in conjunction with any Integrated Development Environment (IDE) our customers might use. FYI - as an existing customer ALU has access to all the SDK capabilities already.

Analyzer was the legacy reporting tool. Comergent used Actuate for reporting and analytics. The relationship with Actuate has been replaced with Cognos.
