Troubleshooting
Problem
The Maximo reorder process fails to reorder items that do not have a conversion set between order and issue units on the CONVERSION object.
Symptom
Reorder will fail to reorder items where a conversion between order and issue unit is not set on the CONVERSION object for the item record. Steps to replicate issue:
Open Inventory Control and from select action choose/Unit of Measure and conversion/Add modify units of measure.
Create two new measure of units called UNIT1 and UNIT2 with an abbreviation of U1 and U2 respectively.
Save.
Bring Up item master and create a new Item called IT10.
Give it an order unit of UNIT1 and an Issue unit of UNIT2
Add it to a storeroom
Current balance of zero
Save
Bring up Inventory and the item created and set the reorder point to 5 and give it a primary vendor.
From the select action choose run reorder
Preview the reorder process
No items come up for reorder even though the part is ready to be reordered. However, since current balance is expressed in issue units and there is no correlation between UNIT1 and UNIT2 on the CONVERSION object, it will not reorder.
From Inventory choose Select Actions/Add Modify Conversions.
Set the From Measure unit to measure unit for UNIT1 to UNIT2 to be a conversion factor of 1. Also place the itemnumber into the itemnum field.
Go back and run the reorder process and you will see that the item record now reorders
