The ECRI Institute (www.ecri.org), a nonprofit organization, provides standardized data for all medical equipment and the companies that manufacture, distribute, and service this equipment. Alerts for hazards and recalls are based on the Universal Medical Device Nomenclature System (UMDNS) device and company codes.

ECRI integration allows IBM Maximo users to apply the ECRI services within their Maximo infrastructure based on the ECRI Source base Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Web Services.

ECRI hosts a short demo of the Integration with Maximo (Does Your CMMS Vendor Integrate with ECRI Institute’s Resources? )

Companies and assets:

The ECRI Source base service integration provides Maximo with the ECRI company and ECRI device UMDNS information. New search capabilities allow the Maximo user to search the ECRI Source base and populate the appropriate references within new Maximo data fields.

Work orders and alerts:

Alerts for hazards and recalls on equipment are critical to patient safety and must be acted upon. The IBM Maximo ECRI Integration for Healthcare provides a new application to receive, display, and find targeted assets, create work orders, and respond to ECRI alerts.
