  • OEMs

MaaS360 for Android Core

Support for secure TeamViewer unattended access >>

MaaS360 adds support for secure TeamViewer unattended access, allowing the administrators to set up permanent access to remote devices by using the TeamViewer Host app for Android. With this support, administrators can silently install the host app on the remote devices and initiate unattended remote support without any action to be taken on the remote side. In the previous releases, MaaS360 added support for TeamViewer attended access. NoteThe list of supported devices is provided here.

Support for configuration of Wi-Fi profiles from MaaS360 agent settings >>

The Wi-Fi configurations that are pending for configuration are now displayed in MaaS360 Settings > Corporate Settings > Configure Wi-Fi Profiles. Previously, users had to configure Wi-Fi profiles through the network settings on the device.

Support for disablement of passcode on MaaS360 agents >>

Background: MaaS360 users can use passcode settings in the MaaS360 agent to lock the MaaS360 application, even though the passcode is not enforced through Secure Policies.

In 10.68, MaaS360 enhances the bulk enrollment feature to allow the administrators to disable the passcode settings on the device. As a result, the passcode settings are unavailable in the MaaS360 agent after the enrollment.

Support to disable device reset on failed passcode attempts >>

Background: Administrators can use Maximum Failed Passcode Attempts policy to specify the number of times a user can enter an incorrect passcode before the device is completely wiped. In Android Enterprise devices, the Android Enterprise profile is erased on maximum failed passcode attempts.

In this release, MaaS360 now allows administrators to specify 0-16 values in the Maximum Failed Passcode Attempts field as opposed to previously allowed 4-16 values. The value 0 (zero) indicates that the policy is disabled, and the devices are not wiped on any number of failed passcode attempts.

Enhancements to certificate updates in the MaaS360 Portal (Update Device Certificate) action >>

MaaS360 now allows administrators to update a single certificate or multiple certificates for devices enrolled in the MaaS360 Portal that uses the MDM policy and the Persona policy.

Support to allow Development Mode for Samsung devices >>

MaaS360 adds support to allow Development Mode on Samsung devices through security policies. To allow/block Development mode on Samsung devices, Navigate to Security Policies and open Android MDM policy. Click Device Settings > Restrictions. In the Developer Options section, enable Allow Development Mode.

SAML support for user authentication on corporate shared devices >>

MaaS360 adds SAML support for authentication, allowing the end-users to use corporate credentials to sign into the MaaS360 application. For more information, see this course.

Support to enter Kiosk mode when the device is in signed out state >>

MaaS360 allows devices to directly enter the Kiosk mode without requiring a sign in. With this feature, administrators can enforce Kiosk mode on shared devices, so that when the users sign out of the MaaS360 app, the device automatically enters the Kiosk mode.

Deep links for MaaS360 app catalog >>

MaaS360 adds support for deep links. With this feature, MaaS360 redirects the users to the specific app detail page in MaaS360 App Catalog by just clicking the URL from Mail or Browser.

PIM Enhancements

Support for creation of events from emails >>

If you receive an email about a flight schedule, team outing, or restaurant reservation, you can now directly add them to your calendar events and all the information from those emails is copied over to the events automatically.

Support to create custom recurring events >>

MaaS360 adds support for custom recurring events, allowing the users to create calendar events with custom recurrence intervals and end dates. For example, users can create events such as repeat once in X days or once in every other week, instead of weekly or monthly. Previously, users had to select from the default recurring intervals.

Secure Viewer/Editor

Support to open hyperlinks in native or MaaS360 Browser >>

MaaS360 adds support to open embedded external hyperlinks in Secure Viewer/Editor in a native or MaaS360 Browser. The support to open hyperlinks is in compliance with the data protection policies enforced via Persona policies.

Android Enterprise

Selective Wipe behavior change in COBO (previously DO) mode >>

On performing a selective wipe, MaaS360 uninstalls only the apps that are marked for Remove on Selective Wipe in MaaS360 App Catalog. On revoking the selective wipe, all the apps that are marked for instant install are installed automatically, but the other apps must be installed manually through App Catalog agent. Previously, on performing selective wipe, all the business apps were hidden.

OEMs

Support for Vuzix and RealWear AR/VR devices >>

MaaS360 announces integration with RealWear and Vuzix to manage wearable Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) Android devices in a single unified solution. With this support, administrators can easily enroll the supported AR/VR wearable devices into the MaaS360 portal using the normal MDM enrollment workflows. In this release, MaaS360 adds support for enrollment and voice-based commands for navigation across MaaS360 agent screens.

Advanced integration for Panasonic devices >>

MaaS360 adds advanced integration support for Panasonic OEM to manage the supported Panasonic devices in a single unified solution. With this support, MaaS360 adds support for silent installation/uninstallation of apps and new policies to manage app compliance and enforce device restrictions.

Build number validation before performing OS upgrade on Bluebird and Zebra devices >>

MaaS360 now validates the target build number against the current build number before performing an OS upgrade on the Bluebird devices. With this enhancement, the download is initiated only if the target build number is different from the build number already available on the device. Previously, the validation was performed after the OS update zip files were downloaded.

Support for new group-level action to copy files from a remote server >>

MaaS360 adds a new group-level dynamic action to allow the administrators to easily copy a file to a group of Zebra and Bluebird devices from a remote server.

MaaS360 app permissions auto-granted on Bluebird devices >>

Bluebird devices automatically grant certain permissions required by the MaaS360 app during the enrollment.

Support for new push profile actions on Bluebird devices >>

MaaS360 adds support for real-time actions, allowing the administrators to deploy predefined profiles that take specific action on the managed Bluebird devices.

M3 Device Management >>

MaaS360 announces a partnership with M3 to manage ruggedized SM10 devices in the MaaS360 platform. This release marks the first phase of a series of enhancements to be made to the MaaS360 platform to integrate with M3 SM10 devices. MaaS360 adds support for silent installation/upgrade of apps and new policies to enforce device restrictions on M3 devices. Requires Android 6.20+ agent. Note: MaaS360 only supports SM10 devices in this release.
