Abstract
L2TP VPN Support for Windows 10 MDM Laptop and Desktop devices

In 10.66 release, MaaS360 adds L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN support for Windows 10+ MDM enrolled Laptop and Desktop devices. The VPN configuration is not supported on Windows Phone devices. The L2TP VPN configuration currently supports only password based authentication for users and works based on pre-shared key (PSK).
Note: Similar to other VPN profiles and enterprise settings, when a 'selective wipe' action is triggered on Windows 10+ device, the L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN profile is wiped off the device.
On 'revoke selective wipe' action, VPN profile is added back to the device. In this case, user authentication is required again to continue L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN access.
Configure L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN for your Windows 10+ MDM device
- For a Windows 10 MDM policy, select Device Settings > VPN.
- From the list of VPN configuration type, choose L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN type.
- Configure the following VPN settings under VPN: L2TP/IPSec PSK profile.
| VPN settings | Description |
| Profile Name | Enter the name to identify the VPN profile. |
| Server Name or IP Address | Enter VPN server or IP address that is qualified host name. |
| IPSec Pre-Shared Key | Enter the secret pre-shared key (PSK) which is a shared secret key that is previously shared between the two parties. The secret key is shared by using secure channel before it needs to be used. |
| User Authentication Type | Type of authentication method to verify user identity for accessing configured VPN profile. By default, available User authentication type for L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN type is Password authentication. |
- Click Save.
