InfoSphere Information Server Kafka on Windows issue:

Because the Kafka service stops after each restart, some components like Information Analyzer do not work properly and the error below can be found in the Information Server Websphere Application Server log file. Error in Information Server SystemOut.log: Failed to construct Kafka producer Please follow these steps to resolve the issue: Edit InformationServer\shared-open-source\kafka\confserver1.properties Find the log.cleaner.enable property and set it to false: log.cleaner.enable=false Stop the service: InformationServer\shared-open-source\bin\stop-windows-services.bat Start the service: InformationServer\shared-open-source\bin\start-windows-services.bat

You might see that some jobs fail randomly as 'session' not found with the following exception: [10/20/21 9:37:27:590 PDT] 00000cf4 LivySessionPo E An exception occurred while getting session state java.io.IOException: Not Found: "Session '707' not found." at com.ibm.iis.odf.core.controlcenter.LivyRestCalls.sendRequest(LivyRestCalls.java:250) at com.ibm.iis.odf.core.controlcenter.LivyRestCalls.sendJSONRequest(LivyRestCalls.java:226) at com.ibm.iis.odf.core.controlcenter.LivyRestCalls.get(LivyRestCalls.java:204) It occurs when the spark sessions become stale. IIS services recover after an unspecified period of time but you can see continuous job failures for a while. Workaround : Restart server or wait for a while (about 10 minutes) before scheduling next set of jobs.	6509496
Data rule execution fails if an output column named 'Function' exists. Cause: 'Function' appears to be a reserved keyword in Hive database and SQL query is not admitting it. Workaround: Rename 'Function' with a different name.	6509504

JDK issues for DataStage clients:

To avoid credential-mapping errors from their DataStage clients for previously working users, update the JDK to the latest available version. See technote 6552878 for details.
