Steps
RFT and RPT versions supported for use with ITCAM for Transactions
Some versions of Rational software supported for use on RRT/T6 agents, are no longer supported by Rational support. In these cases, ITCAMfT provides "best effort" support for problems encountered in the ITCAMfT environment.
If the problem is attributed to Rational software, you might be asked to upgrade to a version of RFT or RPT supported by Rational and ITCAMfT before troubleshooting can continue.
Use the following lifecycle information to check "End of support" dates for your version of RFT and RPT:

Some versions of Rational software supported for use on RRT/T6 agents, are no longer supported by Rational support. In these cases, ITCAMfT provides "best effort" support for problems encountered in the ITCAMfT environment.
If the problem is attributed to Rational software, you might be asked to upgrade to a version of RFT or RPT supported by Rational and ITCAMfT before troubleshooting can continue.

What to do if you need help from IBM support...
If you need to open a Case relating to ITCAMfT Robotic Response Time, and RFT or RPT playbacks, the troubleshooting process will get off to a better start if you direct the Case to the correct support team.
The following tables show what versions of RPT (Table 1) and RFT (Table 2), are supported for use with different versions of ITCAMfT.
Each table is followed by useful information to help you implement Robotic playbacks using Rational Functional Tester (RFT) and Rational Performance Tester (RPT).
When the Version, Release or Modification element in the version number changes, that version is not supported until ITCAMfT certification tests are completed, and these tables are updated to reflect the new level of support.
If the version of RPT or RFT has a FixPack value of "x" in these tables, it means all fixpacks for that release are also supported.
For example, RPT 9.2.0.x in the column title means, RPT 9.2.0.1 is also supported.
There might be exceptions. If that happens, these tables give details of the exception.

What to do if you need help from IBM support...
If you need to open a Case relating to ITCAMfT Robotic Response Time, and RFT or RPT playbacks, the troubleshooting process will get off to a better start if you direct the Case to the correct support team.
- If you experience problems in RFT or RPT Workbench before the script is exported to ITCAM for Transactions...
For example:
- Installing RFT or RPT Workbench
- Recording a script
- Running a script
Open a Case for the product: Rational Functional Tester or Rational Performance Tester
Your Case will be worked on by Rational support who are the experts when it comes to all aspects of script development and playback in RFT and RPT Workbench.
- If you experience ITCAMfT related problems...
For example:
- Installing the Rational Integration Support (RIS) plugin
- Exporting the script to ITCAM for Transactions
- Creating or updating Robotic Response Time profiles in Application Management Configuration Editor (AMCE)
- Running the script on the T6 agent
- Data collection or display issues in the TEP console
Open a Case for the product: Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Transactions
The following tables show what versions of RPT (Table 1) and RFT (Table 2), are supported for use with different versions of ITCAMfT.
Each table is followed by useful information to help you implement Robotic playbacks using Rational Functional Tester (RFT) and Rational Performance Tester (RPT).
RFT and RPT Version numbers use this format:

Note: The End of Support date for RPT 10.0.x is 30th September 2024
- Clients entitled to run ITCAMfT, are also entitled to download and use RPT without purchasing a Rational license
ITCAMfT users have a restricted license included in the ITCAMfT Rational Integration Support (RIS) plugin which allows you to develop, export and run RFT and RPT playbacks without the need to buy a separate RFT or RPT license.
When installing RPT, you do not need to install the IBM Rational License Key Administrator package, as the a license is installed automatically with the Rational Integration Support (RIS) plugin.
The license provided with ITCAMfT Rational Integration Support (RIS) is a permanent license that won't expire till the end of 2037.
The license restriction applies to the number of virtual users that can simultaneously run a RPT test.
The license provided with ITCAMfT Rational Integration Support (RIS) allows only 1 user.
You can download the required version of RPT from Passport Advantage as follows:

If you need new features introduced in any of these "unsupported" versions, you should use the latest supported version. (See Table 1)
- T6 agents installed on Linux® and AIX can only be used for playing back RPT http and https scripts. (Run in 32-bit mode)
- If you have problems with Robotic Response Time monitoring in a system that's using supported ITCAMfT components, but...
- The version of RPT used to record scripts is now out of support
- It becomes clear that help is needed from Rational support
You might be asked to upgrade to a supported version of RPT before troubleshooting can continue.
- Important information relating to RPT and RIS installation
- RPT does not need to be installed on T6 agents where scripts are run as scheduled playbacks.
Do not install RPT on a T6 agent in a production environment, if you plan to record, test and maintain scripts.
If you do this. you will have to make sure all playback activity is stopped when RPT Workbench is used.
- The machine where RPT is installed must be able to connect to the AMC / T3 agent machine to export scripts
- Install RPT when logged in as the local Administrator, or using a user ID that belongs to the Local Administrators group
- RPT Workbench must be installed as a 32-bit application on versions of Windows supported by ITCAMfT and RPT
By default, RPT will be installed with the 64-bit option selected.
The 32-bit option must be selected when installing RPT
Failing to install the 32-bit version of RPT will result in script export problems, because Rational Integration Support (RIS) is a 32-bit Windows application

Use information available in the "Notes" and "Details" columns to check what agent versions are needed to support specific operating systems
- When installing RPT, make sure the correct "Features/Test Extensions" are selected.
Note: Do not select "IBM Rational Performance Tester Extension for Rational Integration Tester".
Doing so will result in a failure to create runtime packages for export to ITCAM.

By default, the T6 agent runs as a Windows service.
When running RFT scripts, the agent executable, kt6agent.exe, has to run as a process
