Is it possible to GET the Object Number of a requirement from IBM DOORS Web Access using the OSLC API

Question & Answer

Question

Is it possible to GET the Object Number of a requirement from IBM DOORS Web Access using the OSLC API?

Cause

The issue is seen when IBM DOORS is configured with IBM Quality Manager OSLC integration. If you have an OSLC link between DOORS-QM and you hover over your mouse to DOORS Requirement link in QM, you don't see Object Number attribute listed under Attributes section.

Answer

The Object Number is not "data". Its a value calculated based on the state of a view. As such, it is not available via OSLC. This is working by design.

For example - If you take a view which does not show deletions, delete some objects, now show the deletions, the Object number values change as a side effect of changing the view without changing any data at all.
