It is not possible to import rules using the web console

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempting to import Rules using IBM Control Center 6.0.0.1 web console produces error: "c:\users\user\appdata\local\temp\2\D:\control Center\rules\rules.zip (The filename, directory name, or volume syntax is incorrect)"

Symptom

The Rules to be imported are here:
D:\control Center\rules\rules.zip

But selecting this file results in error:
Error c:\users\user\appdata\local\temp\2\D:\control Center\rules\rules.zip (The filename, directory name, or volume syntax is incorrect)

Cause

This has been identified as a product defect under APAR IT17445

Environment

Using Internet Explorer Version : 11.0.9600.18426

Diagnosing The Problem

1. In the IBM Control Center web console, click Manage > Rules.
2. Click Import Rule.
3. Click Browse and select the .zip file that you saved during the export procedure.
Click OK.
