Question & Answer
Question
How is inventory maintained for a Dynamic physical kit item in IBM Sterling Business center?
Cause
As per documentation, the inventory for a dynamic physical kit is maintained at the kit item (parent) level, and is usually associated with the kitting or dekitting service.
Answer
Example Scenario:
- Create a kitting service in Sterling Business center.
- Associate child items with the kitting service.
- Create a dynamic physical kit item.
- Associate the kitting service created in step1 with the dynamic physical kit item in Sterling Business center.
- Adjust inventory both parent item and child items using Application console.
- Enable Work Order to Order Listener.
When confirming inventory, the kit item (parent) does not change but quantity of the component/child items decreased.
The Inventory for dynamic Physical Kit is maintained for all components level and not on dynamic physical kit parent level. If you want to just check for the inventory for dynamic Physical Kit parent level , then you will have to search by specifying the correct Segment and segmentType (MTO/MTC).
