Insufficient memory error when there is plenty of memory in server

Question & Answer

Question

Why do I get insufficient memory error when the server showed only 30% memory usage?

Cause

SpcRC(006a004e) in the log indicating the insufficient memory error due to subpool shortage

Answer

If there appears to be plenty of overall memory in the server, and memory errors are showing, its usually the sub-pool problem.

In V95, USERSUBPOOLMAX controls adding 'extra' storage to the subpools. Having customer set USERSUBPOOLMAX to 100000 to make sure it should work.

in V91, MEMORY FILE MAX KB needs to be increased.

NOTE: For V95, the MEMORY FILE MAX KB parameter is now known as USERSUBPOOLMAX {DEFAULT}=8192
