Abstract

This paper describes testing that was done to test flexibility, integration, and scalability of Infor M3 7.1 running on a IBM i server. Infor M3 is a supplier of collaboration software which focuses on the manufacturing, maintenance, and distribution industries. The Infor M3 ERP solution is a Java-based application which runs on IBM i servers. To demonstrate the abilities of Infor M3 7.1, the M3 Order Entry Benchmark kit was used to simulate key elements of a typical customer transaction. The goal is to maximize throughput through the Business Engine. The scenario was run making use of IBM i, version V5R4, and IBM Technology for Java virtual machine, or IT4J, available in V5R4. Several different scenarios were run to show the performance and scalability of Infor M3 7.1 running on a IBM i server.
