Mainframe Basics
The badge earner has a foundational knowledge on Mainframe operating systems like zOS & zVM and also Linux operating system on IBM System Z. This course is a pre-requisite to other Mainframe specializations.

- To skill the students on the basics of the Mainframe system and provide an understanding of the different Operating Systems of Mainframe systems. This will be a pre requisite to the Mainframe Application development Track

Program outcomes
- To demonstrate skills in Open Source Software
- To demonstrate skills in Linux, PHP Programming and XML programming

What it takes to earn this badge
- Must be a student who has enrolled in an IBM Innovation Centre for Education Program.
- At least 60% attendance in Web Lectures -- live or recorded in the subjects
- The number of IBM specialization subjects completed should be a minimum of 2, but less than 4
- Should complete a minimum of 100 hours of Classroom sessions
- 60% grade achieved in the end-of-course exam conducted by IBM or its Authorized Partner
- At least 60% grades in Project work in aggregate from average of Project Guide (60% weightage), and Industry Project Mentor (40% weightage)
