IBM® Spectrum Control™ Storage Insights - Getting support has never been so easy!

The latest update of IBM Spectrum Control Storage Insights significantly enhances the support experience. Now, it's simple for you to get support for your IBM storage systems.

With the latest update, IBM Support already has the data that they need to diagnose your problem at their fingertips - you install a lightweight data collector that constantly streams diagnostic data to IBM. Also, when you open a ticket, a log package is automatically sent to IBM Support.

In Storage Insights, you can now do the following ticket tasks:

  • Create a ticket quickly: Click the Get Support icon image for a storage system, click Create Ticket, then follow the simple steps to create your ticket.

  • Automatically add a log package to new tickets: When you create a ticket, a log package is added to the ticket automatically. If you need to provide updated logs, that's easy too: Click Update Ticket and follow the simple steps!
  • View the ticket history of a storage system: Click the Tickets tab for a storage system to see a list of the tickets for the system - including open and closed tickets.

  • Get help from IBM Support for your problems: IBM Support has read-only access to diagnostic information about your storage systems, so they can help troubleshoot and resolve problems.

What to do if you're not a Storage Insights subscriber

If you're not a current Storage Insights subscriber but want to see first-hand how these features can help you manage IBM block storage systems, there is a way!

Storage Insights Foundation is an upcoming offering from IBM that provides some of the same features of Storage Insights for managing IBM block storage systems. While it doesn't include all the rich, storage-management features of Storage Insights, it does provide the following capabilities:

  • Monitor health, capacity, and performance enterprise-wide on a single pane of glass
  • Focus on storage events that truly need attention
  • Connect to IBM support in a few easy steps
  • Automate the upload of support log packages
  • Resolve issues faster by using cumulative telemetry data
  • View all open tickets and ticket history
  • Enjoy the ease and security of an IBM Cloud service
