This document describes how to download maintenance packages for IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows

Check the following sections to determine for this IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows:

Download Description

Tip: The product now known as IBM Spectrum Protect was named IBM Tivoli Storage Manager in releases earlier than Version 7.1.3. To learn more about the rebranding transition, see Tivoli Storage Manager branding transition to IBM Spectrum Protect.

Note: IBM Spectrum Protect and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager 7.1 reached end of support (EOS) at 31 December 2021, see: IBM Spectrum Protect and Tivoli Storage Manager 7.1 products End of Support 31 December 2021.

After IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows 7.1.6 fix pack is installed and in use, do not roll back to a previous release or fix-pack. Stub files that are created with this fix pack and later versions are not compatible with previous versions. Previous versions of the IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client cannot recall files from stubs that are created with version 7.1.6 and later versions.

IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 7.1.3 and 7.1.4 fix packages are removed from the FTP servers as they contain not remediated security vulnerabilities. Packages on PTF distribution website

All IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows maintenance packages and the interim fixes can be accessed by using the PTF distribution website. The HTTPS link in the section "Download package" directs to the PTF distribution website.

However, these maintenance packages and interim fixes available through PTF distribution website do not contain the required license enablement files. For initial installation of IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows, you must obtain your packages, with the associated license enablement files, from the Passport Advantage Online website.  


 

Packages on Fix Central online

To get the most current features and enhancements, it is required to update IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client from a previous version or release. Maintenance packages and the interim fixes are delivered on Fix Central. The HTTP link in the section "Download package" directs to the Fix Central online website.

However, these maintenance packages and interim fixes available through Fix Central do not contain the required license enablement files. For initial installation of IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client, you must obtain your packages, with the associated license enablement files, from the Passport Advantage Online website.


 

Packages on Passport Advantage Online

The Passport Advantage Online website has complete packages of IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows for download. To download IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows 8.1.15, using the Passport Advantage® Online website, see IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows 8.1.15.
The packages available through Passport Advantage are the base level packages. For any maintenance packages and interim fixes, check Fix Central or PTF distribution website.

Note:

  • Downloading any files indicates acceptance of the terms and conditions detailed in the IBM Program license agreement.
  • Maintenance fix pack packages and readme files for the IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client, include both English and non-English clients where supported.

IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows 8.1.15 does not include an updated version of the product documentation. Download Package

The HTTP link in the Download Options column directs you to the following sites:

  • PTF distribution website:
    PTF distribution website provides fixes for maintenance packages and interim fix packages.
  • Fix Central online website:
    Fix Central provides fixes and updates for your system's software, hardware, and operating system. Fix Central is a secure website that requires you to log in using your IBMid. You can acquire an IBMid at  Sign up to IBMid.
    You can locate the packages on the Fix Central online website by using the product name, version, and platform as the search query. For example, use the "IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows".
Reminder: The packages available through PTF distribution website and Fix Central do not contain license enablement files. Install previous a base level package before you use these packages.
