Abstract

Support of IBM Cloud Object Storage with IBM Storage Insights Pro and IBM Spectrum Control 5.4 (all versions).

IBM Cloud Object Storage (COS) was tested with the following firmware levels:

Tips:

  • Newer firmware levels are also supported. For IBM Spectrum Control, an upgrade to a later version might be required, particularly for new functions. IBM Storage Insights is automatically upgraded.  
  • IBM Cloud Object Storage was formerly known as Cleversafe.
  • If any problems occur when you use newer firmware levels, open a support case. IBM Support will investigate the problem and attempt to resolve it. You can open cases for IBM Storage Insights or IBM Spectrum Control at https://www.ibm.com/mysupport/ 

Limitations and considerations

  • Provisioning functions and performance monitoring are not available for IBM Cloud Object Storage. 
  • Verify that the host name or IP address in the COS Manager certificate matches the resolvable DNS name before you add the device to IBM Spectrum Control.
