Why is the installation of FAM module 10.5.0_r103637 failing on AIX 7.1 Operating System?
Cause
The default shell used by AIX is ksh (korn shell). This shell is not supported for 10.5 FAM installation.
Answer
It is recommended to upgrade to Guardium v10.6 or higher to avoid this incompatibility issue.
In terms of workarounds, Changing to bash temporarily is an option. Changing the default shell from korn to bash shell permanently might result in some standard AIX commands not being able to run and lead to unexpected behavior.
