IBM Security Governance and Intelligence changes to IBM Security Verify Governance at 10.0 release; Identity Manager now is included in Verify Governance

Abstract

As of the 18 December 2020 release of version 10.0, the IBM Security Identity Governance and Intelligence product becomes IBM Security Verify Governance. Identity Manager, formerly IBM Security Identity Manager, is now included in IBM Security Verify Governance 10.0.

As part of the continuous efforts to modernize the identity and access management portfolio, IBM Security Governance and Intelligence and IBM Security Identity Manager now are part of the IBM Security Verify brand family. The new product name is IBM Security Verify Governance.

IBM Security Verify Governance 10.0 includes new features to modernize the web user interface, enhance access request usability, and support admin user self-services and separation of duty control for admin activities. Documentation, tools, and online help will use the new name IBM Security Verify Governance. For IBM Security Identity Governance and Intelligence 5.2 releases, the documentation, tools and online help still use the former name.

Identity Manager, formerly IBM Security Identity Manager, is included in IBM Security Verify Governance 10.0. User interfaces for Identity Manager are rebranded to IBM Security Verify Governance. Identity Manager for IBM Security Verify Governance 10.0 supports software installation as well as virtual appliance deployment options. Documentation and tools for Identity Manager are now included in IBM Security Verify Governance. For IBM Security Identity Manager 6.x and 7.x releases, the documentation, tools, and online help still use the former name.

When you search within the IBM Knowledge Center, use IBM Security Identity Governance and Intelligence for documentation of releases 5.2.x; use IBM Security Identity Manager for documentation of releases 6.x and 7.x; use IBM Security Verify Governance for documentation of release 10.0 and later, including documentation for Identity Manager and Adapters.

When logging technical support cases for these products you can search for the new name or old name. Your cases will open under the new name. When you select your version, the support agent will know the difference. Mention the component (Identity Manager or Governance) that is involved, and whether it is a virtual appliance or software stack.
