Symptom

Some versions of web browsers perform better than others when connecting to the IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter.

Affected configuration

The system is any of the following IBM eServer xSeries servers:

  • IBM xSeries 220, type 8645, any model

The system is configured with the following option(s):

  • IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter, Option part number 09N7585, replacement part number (FRU) 36L9912.
Additional information

The ASM Web interface supports the following Web browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 4.0 with Service Pack 1, or later.
  • Netscape Navigator, version 4.72, or later.

Note: Netscape Navigator version 6.0 is not supported.
 
The ASM Web interface has the following browser-related requirements:

  • Java enabled Web browser.
    (See your browser documentation or online Help for instructions about enabling its Java support.)
  • JavaScript version 1.2, or later.
    (See your browser documentation or online Help for instructions about enabling its JavaScript support.)
  • HTTP version 1.0, or later.
  • Minimum display resolution of 800 x 600 with 256 colors.

Note: The ASM Web interface and the ASM text-based interface do not support the double byte character set (DBCS) languages.
