Why do I get the errors below when I try to select a .rqs file (IBM Rational RequisitePro file). Error: Document 'Document1 RequisitePro'.Document '\\folder378\c$\Program Files\IBM\RationalSDLC\RequisitePro\Projects\xxxRequirements\xxxRequirements.rqs' type is 'RequisitePro'. Error: COM error (Can't create a 'ReqPro40.Application'.Application may not be installed) Error: Conversion problem (file '\\folder378\c$\Program Files\IBM\RationalSDLC\RequisitePro\Projects\xxxRequirements\xxxRequirements.rqs')
Cause
This error is typically caused when you are trying to select a Rational RequisitePro file but you don't have Rational RequisitePro installed locally where Rational Rhapsody Gateway is installed . The following steps can lead to the issue:
- Launch Rhapsody Gateway
- In the Project editor, click on the Add a document button to insert a new document into the Traceability Description Area.
- Select a Type of Analysis based on RequisitePro. Click on the File or Directory field then on the Browse button to select a RequisitePro project (with the rqs extension)
Answer
You will need to install Rational RequisitePro on the same machine has where Rational Rhapsody Gateway is installed and you are accessing the .rqs file.
