Prerequisites

This fix pack can be applied to the i2 Analyze component of an IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook Premium 9.2.4 deployment. It must not be applied to other versions of IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook Premium. This fix applies to deployments that use IBM Db2 as the database for the Information Store or the Chart Store, and are upgrading from an earlier release. If you have already successfully upgraded your systems from an earlier release, you do not require this fix pack. New deployments, deployments that use Microsoft SQL Server as the database, or deployments of i2 Connect without a database, do not require this fix pack.

Installation information

IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook Premium 9.2.4 Fix Pack 1 contains the following compressed file:

• IBM_i2_Analyze_4.3.4_Fix_Pack_1.zip

This fix pack must be applied before running the upgrade commands, for example setup -t upgrade.

1. Extract the contents of the compressed file: IBM_i2_Analyze_4.3.4_Fix_Pack_1.zip
2. Copy the contents of the extracted file over your existing toolkit. Overwrite files when prompted.
3. Continue with the standard upgrade process. 

List of fixes

The following issues are resolved by this fix pack:

In i2 Analyze 4.3.4, Visual Query supports the querying of MULTIPLE_LINE_STRING properties, notes and source references. When upgrading to 4.3.4, the columns used for those types, in deployments that use IBM Db2 databases, are converted from CLOBs to VARCHARs. This might cause data tables to be unavailable and the subsequent recovery of the database to a backup taken prior to upgrading. This fix pack allows the newly supported types to be used in visual queries without column conversion taking place.

Known issues

Use of Visual Query without the columns being converted from CLOBs to VARCHARs, might adversely impact query performance. You can use the visual-query-configuration.xml to prevent the use of these columns in Visual Query. For more information see: Restricting Visual Query conditions.
