Abstract

Service Processor Manager support

Content

You are in: IBM i Technology Updates > IBM i integration with BladeCenter and System x > Service Processor Manager support

The Service Processor Manager function of IBM i Integrated Server Support provides discovery and power control of iSCSI attached servers. It is a light weight alternative to using an IBM Director server running in your IBM i partition to perform discovery and power control for iSCSI attached servers. When using Service Processor Manager, customers do not need to run an IBM Director server in their IBM i partition for this purpose.

See Configuring IBM i to use Service Processor Manager on i 6.1 and i 5.4 in the IBM i iSCSI Solution Guide for details.

The following IBM i PTF groups are used to deliver this enhancement:

5.4 PTF Group 6.1 PTF Group 7.1 PTF Group
SF99348 Level 13 (January 2010) SF99357 Level 9 (March 2009) Base
