To reset file associations, one of the following options can be used:
1) From the IBM i Access Client Solutions main User Interfaces select Tools - File Association and clear all the options and select OK.
Go back and check those file types you want to add file associations for IBM i Access Client Solutions. Most common are: hod, bchx, dtfx, dttx, and sql and press OK
2) From Windows Command Prompt:
Navigate to folder that IBM i Access Client Solutions is being launched from which can be determined from the IBM i Access Client Solutions main User Interface under Help -> About. The location is within the Start_Program folder in the same place where acsbundle.jar is located, and then, if the Help indicates that it is running (32-bit) or (64-bit) run the following commands:
32-bit:
First run: Windows-i386-32\acslaunch_win-32.exe /PLUGIN=fileassoc hod bchx dtfx dttx sql /c
Then run: Windows-i386-32\acslaunch_win-32.exe /PLUGIN=fileassoc hod bchx dtfx dttx sql
64-bit:
First run: Windows-x86-64\acslaunch_win-64.exe /PLUGIN=fileassoc hod bchx dtfx dttx sql /c
Then run: Windows-x86-64\acslaunch_win-64.exe /PLUGIN=fileassoc hod bchx dtfx dttx sql
NOTE: Only include those file types you want to add file associations for IBM i Access Client Solutions. Most common are hod, bchx, dtfx, dttx, and sql
