-
QIBM_RUN_UNDER_USER_NO_AUTH function usage ID prevents a user profile from being used without supplying the user profile’s credentials
-
New user profiles: QPGMR_NC, QSECOFR_NC, QSYSOPR_NC and QUSER_NC
-
IBM-supplied user profiles with names that end in _NC, for “not changeable” are used by the operating system and applications
-
-
Single authentication exit point QIBM_QSY_AUTH enables customizable additional authentication processing
-
“Enhanced profile token” incorporates purpose and network origination into the generation and subsequent use of the profile token
-
System service tools (SST) and dedicated service tools (DST) MFA TOTP implementation
-
Navigator provides several enhancements for managing Multi-factor Authentication from configuration to user profile management. See Using IBM Navigator for i to Manage MFA.
-
Cryptography
- The QIBM_IOSYSCFG_VIEW function ID provides administrators the ability to define users with a read-only role for viewing input/output system configuration information without *IOSYSCFG special authority.
- The Configure Host Server (CFGHOSTSVR) command is used to individually enable, disable, or allow loopback for non-secure connections on the supported host servers. The host servers that only support insecure connections can also be individually enabled or disabled.
- The Kerberos configuration commands were updated to include parameters to specify the list of encryption types to add and remove for the specified principal from the keytab entries. The default encryption types when creating a new entry now only include AES algorithms.
System Management
The Access Client Solutions and the new Web based Navigator continue to be enhanced as we strive to help the IBM i Administrator manage and update their IBM i systems.

- Optical volumes associated with an optical storage group can be listed directly from the optical storage group list
These command enhancements are also available through PTFs for CMOD for i versions 7.4 and 7.5.
Additional Enhancements:
- Instance startup speed is significantly improved by making automatic ARSSUPPORT data collection asynchronous
