Enchancements:

  • Created a pool of chain buffers, instead of dedicated memory per IO request.
  • Added the ability to override/set the ReportDeviceMissingDelay and IODeviceMissingDelay from driver.
  • Removed support for MPI2_EVENT_TASK_SET_FULL. Processing of this event is handled by the controller firmware.
  • Reduced cache misses in command submission path.
  • Block I/O requests when system shutdown is in process.
  • Added support to retrieve firmware diag trace buffers between every diagnostic reset and FAULTs.

Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where a drive with enabled write cache is removed then the driver stops further processing of events like device deletions or insertions, and the system needs reboot to recover.
  • Fixed an issue where the driver was sending a SCSI_IO to an end device after device deletion.
  • Fixed issue while running Ios from the initiator controller to the Luns on the taget mode controller and doing a port reset on the target mode controller stops the IO's.
  • Fixed an issue where the firmware sends an invalid smid and causes a driver panic.
  • Fixed an issue where false timeout occurs after hard resets due to commands not being completed during hard resets.
  • Fixed an issue where Kernel Panic ocurrs during Large Topology discovery due to Port enable fails at driver load time.
  • Fixed an issue where the HBA does not restore devices after zone deactivation.
  • Fixed an issue where increasing max_queue_depth in the Linux Driver is not honored above 30,000.
  • Fixed an issue where the driver was a sending a SEP request during interrupt context which required the system to go to sleep.
  • Resolved 1550 fault due to running the load_diag_trace_on.sh and diag_rest with 30 secs delay make the driver to crash after some time.
  • Prevent heap overflows and unchecked reads.
  • Fixed an issue where the shutdown/reboot is not completed and the system is stuck in driver shutdown handler
