Impact Description

This release contains new features, enhancements, and quality improvements, as well as fixes to release 9.0 and previous releases.

Test Results

Definitions

Regression: An error in the Maintenance Delivery Vehicle (MDV) that produces incorrect or unexpected behavior causing a supported feature to stop functioning as designed.
This includes:

  • Coding errors that cause a regression
  • Documentation or packaging problems that cause a regression
  • Errors reported in a new function delivered in a MDV that cause a regression

Incomplete: An error in the MDV has not regressed, but does not work as designed.
This includes:

  • Fixed APARs which did not solve the original problem but did not break anything new
  • APARs reporting documentation errors, such as readme errors, that cause problems applying an MDV but do not lead to a regression

Notes:
  • Regression and incomplete APARs are considered fix-in-error or MDV-in-error
  • Definitions above apply only to valid APARs that result in product fixes (APARs returned as working-as-designed are not assessed for being fix-in-error)
  • Issues in major releases due to new functionality do not apply in this definition

There are no known regressions to report.

Change History

Enhanced user experience

  • Multi-monitor support
Rhapsody seamlessly extends elements like menus, toolbars, and windows onto additional monitors for a more expansive and tailored workspace.
  • Customized workspace
Revamped UX allows for flexible customization of menus, toolbars, perspectives, and other elements to suit individual needs and preferences.
  • Consistent user interface
A new layout management system establishes a consistent interface across the organization, improving collaboration and adaptation.

Expanded Capabilities

  • Test Conductor
    • Code coverage information is available in tags of the code coverage result (allows access using the Rhapsody Java™ API).
    • An additional kind of test action (StubChecksAction) to control the generation of checks of argument values in observation stubs in SD-based test cases.
    • Support of Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 and 2022.
  • HarmonyMBE profile
Introduces best practices for systems modeling with extended layers and advanced automation capabilities.
  • UAF and RAAML profiles
Defines strategic and risk views during systems design for informed decision-making and risk mitigation.
  • Automotive solution
Rhapsody supports both classic and adaptive AUTOSAR development methods.
  • Automatic Test Generator (ATG)
Support of Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 and 2022.
  • Live KPIs, Offline PUB Tools, & Feature Optimization
With Rhapsody 10, you can access live updates on key performance indicators (KPIs) including coverage, compliance, and impact analysis with our new Jazz® Reporting Service (JRS) feed integration. Streamline reporting workflow for regulated industries with the dedicated PUB tool for generating offline reports.
  • Added compiler support
Added support for the following compiler in Rhapsody:
    • Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 and 2022
    • Cygwin 3.4.9

Platform Compatibility

  • Windows 11 support
Rhapsody 10 runs seamlessly on the latest Windows platform.

Guide me

  • Support for Microsoft Edge browser for Guide me
Guide Me is now supported in the Microsoft Edge browser. However, note that the display style block is not supported in the webview2 control. Therefore, if you have configured your Guide me, it is important to remove any instances of block in the GuideMe.xsl file or compare it with an empty string.
  • Introduced a new command to access help content
As the help.exe is removed from Rhapsody, a new command, that is $OPEN_HELP_TOPIC, is introduced to access the help content.
For example, for Overview of IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody, set the path in the following format:
    <a href="$OPEN_HELP_TOPIC: -topic/com.ibm.rhp.overview.doc/topics/rhp_c_po_rr_prod_overview.html">Overview of IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody</a>
After you add this command to the documentation path, it will navigate the same as it will navigate context-sensitive help for the referred link. For more information about Rhapsody help configuration, see Help content configuration.

Helpful Hints For Obtaining Technical Assistance:

Before you contact IBM Software Support, gather the background information that you need to describe the problem. When you describe a problem to an IBM software support specialist, be as specific as possible, and include all relevant background information so that the specialist can help you solve the problem efficiently. To save time, know the answers to these questions:

  • What software versions were you running when the problem occurred?
  • Do you have logs, traces, or messages that are related to the problem?
  • Can you reproduce the problem? If so, what steps do you take to reproduce it?
  • Is there a workaround for the problem? If so, be prepared to describe the workaround.
