Each patch contains the cumulative fixes of its predecessor. All other patches referenced in this document are obsolete.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites are: IBM Installation Manager 1.9.1 or later fix pack or IBM Installation Manager 1.9.2 or later fix pack; IBM DevOps Code ClearCase version 11.0.0.

Installation Instructions

You must install this update by using the Updates Packages wizard in IBM® Installation Manager. For information on installing updates by using wizard mode, see the help for Installation Manager on IBM Documentation.

Refer to technote 623239 for detailed installation instructions.

You can directly update to ClearCase 11.0.0.1 unless the existing version is earlier than 11.0.0. For the following scenarios, a direct update is not allowed, you need to follow the instructions in the update guide at 7160123:

  • If you are updating from ClearCase earlier than 11.0.0
  • If you are performing an update on linux_x86_64 with IM 1.9.x

By default, the update is installed from the IBM® update repository on to a remote server.

  • It is also possible to download the update and install it locally.
    1. Download the repository from the Download Package table below.
    2. Extract files to a temporary directory. In the IBM® Installation Manager, click File > Preferences and add the temporary directory location to the list of repositories.
    3. Use the Update Packages wizard in the Installation Manager to complete the update.

If you plan to deploy IBM DevOps Code ClearCase or IBM® Rational ClearQuest using the WebSphere Application Server, then read technotes 544639 and 6855865 before you install the products.

If you plan to use the ClearCase® GUIs, some additional Operating System packages might be required. See the Detailed System Requirements for more information (link provided in the Supporting Documentation section).

The ClearCase® Remote Client and CMAPI now support SP800-131 compliance. Custom configuration might be required for integrated environments, for example, with Rational Team Concert with CCRC or with CMAPI applications not using IBM® JRE. Refer to technote 240547 for more information.

For the ClearTeam Explorer and ClearTeam Explorer Extension offerings, use the ccrc.zip and ccrc_extension.zip download packages below. For installation instructions, see the help for ClearCase on IBM Documentation.

For the DevOps Code ClearCase-Cadence Virtuoso Extension offerings, use the appropriate CDSVR_extension download packages below. For installation instructions, see the help for ClearCase on IBM Documentation.

Note: Descriptions of resolved defects are included in the ux_readme and windows_readme files in the Download package table. The readme files are also included in each patch bundle; therefore, you do not need to download the readme separately when you download the patch.

Critical

This is a maintenance release. This fix pack addresses vulnerabilities in OpenSSL and libcURL. Review the Security bulletins (CVE-2023-6237, CVE-2023-6129, CVE-2023-5678, CVE-2024-0727) (OpenSSL), (CVE-2023-46219, CVE-2023-46218) (libcURL) for more information. The release also contains fixes for client-reported and internally found defects.

Definitions

Regression: An error in the Maintenance Delivery Vehicle (MDV) that produces incorrect or unexpected behavior causing a supported feature to stop functioning as designed.
This includes:

  • Coding errors that cause a regression
  • Documentation or packaging problems that cause a regression
  • Errors reported in a new function delivered in an MDV that causes a regression

Incomplete: An error in the MDV has not regressed, but does not work as designed.
This includes:

  • Fixed APARs that did not solve the original problem but did not break anything new
  • APARs reporting documentation errors, such as readme errors, that cause problems applying an MDV but do not lead to a regression

Notes:
  • Regression and incomplete APARs are considered fix-in-error or MDV-in-error
  • Definitions above apply only to valid APARs that result in product fixes (APARs returned as working-as-designed are not assessed for being fix-in-error)
  • Issues in major releases due to new functionality do not apply in this definition

172640 When trying to create a VOB on the server storage location with Local Views and VOBs disabled in the client, an Unable to remove identity.sd and group.sd... error is displayed by the cleartool. -
172630 De-selecting the Local Views/VOBs option when installing your Client machine will block you from creating views or VOBs on the local host. Subsequently, attempting to run mkview or mkvob will cause misleading error messages to be displayed. -
169988 On Linux s390x, IBM Installation Manager hangs displaying the splash screen. To work around this issue, use the -noSplash option to IBMIM or set the environment variable SWT_GTK3 to 0 before starting Installation Manager. 357997
171842 While setting up a profile with the IBM HTTP Server (IHS) plugin enabled on WebSphere Application Server 9.0.5.19, it is not possible to establish an SSL connection between IHS and WebSphere profile because the configuration management system (CMS) keystore plugin-key.kdb file is missing. To work around this issue, run this command to install iFix 9.0.5.0-WS-WAS-IFPH60850 on WAS_9.0.5.19. For example:

Once the command is completed, install ClearCase with the CCRC WAN Server option selected. The plugin-key.kdb, and plugin-key.sth files are successfully created in the location common\ccrcprofile\config\cells\dfltCell\nodes\host-node\servers\webserver1\plugin-key.kdb  .
