IBM Daeja ViewONE - annotation font utility

How To

Summary

IBM Daeja ViewONE Text annotations have a font drop-down, where you can choose the fonts for the text annotation. By default, the drop-down has predefined Arial font. You can have more fonts in the drop-down by generating the necessary font resource files using the utility and setting the location of those generated files under the annotationCustomFonts property. The utility is a JAR file, which is run by using the command 'java -jar daeja-font-utility.jar' with the directory that contains the utility and the TTF files needed for the font resource generation.

Steps

Generating the font resource files required using daeja-font-utility

Follow the steps to generate the font resource:
  1. Download the daeja-font-utility.jar and place it in a directory.
  2. Place the necessary TTF files of the additional fonts that to be displayed in the font drop-down list, under the same directory where daeja-font-utility.jar is present.
Example: C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\CustomFonts is the location where you are placing the daeja-font-utility.jar and TTF files. The following screenshot has 4 TTF files (bold, italic, bold-italic, regular style) for same font 'Georgia'.
  3. Run the command 'java -jar daeja-font-utility.jar' from the same directory location to start the font resource file generation process.
  4. The AWT Windows appears and gets closed automatically after the font resource file generation process is completed.
  5. After the process completion (all AWT windows are closed), you can see the font resource files that are generated in the same directory.
