The IBM Content Navigator Configuration Manager and Deployment Tool does not start in AIX

The problems that are addressed in technote https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6448522 are not sufficient to address that the Configuration Manager tool cannot start in the AIX environment after you upgrade the bundled JDK to IBM Java version 8.0.95. To address this problem, the LIBPATH must contain the following directory before you run the IBM Content Navigator (ICN) Configuration Manager tool.

<ICN installed Path>/jre/jre/lib/icc

For example, ICN is installed in the directory, /opt/IBM/ECMClient.

Run the following command to include that directory path into the LIBPATH.

export LIBPATH=$LIBPATH:/opt/IBM/ECMClient/jre/jre/lib/icc

Once LIBPATH is set, the Content Manager UI works in the AIX environment.

An important update for the nonroot user.

By default, AIX limits the maximum file size to 1 GB for the nonroot user. The temp file for ICN 3.0.12 installer is more than 1 GB. To install IBM Content Navigator 3.0.12 on AIX with the nonroot user, change the maximum file size for the nonroot user.

Use command, chuser, to modify the limitation of the nonroot user.

For example, unlimit the maximum file size for user, testuser:

chuser fsize=-1 testuser
