IBM AD artifacts in the Business Rule Discovery workbook cannot be displayed from IBM ADDI Extensions

Troubleshooting


Problem

After you install and configure IBM ADDI, you might find that AD artifacts in the Business Rule Discovery workbook cannot be displayed while defining a snippet.

Cause

While ADDI Extensions index task was running on the AD Batch Server side, some data could not be saved into Elasticsearch. That’s because the Elasticsearch front-end service was on the version of 611ifix1 or later while the com.ibm.etl.app.pojo jar was on an earlier version of 5.1.0.8, 5.1.0.9, 6.0.1, or 6.0.2. 
Note: You might run into this issue in version 5108ifix8, 5109ifix11, 601ifix8, 601ifix9, 601ifix10, 601ifix11, 602ifix8, 602ifix9, 602ifix10, and 602ifix11.

Resolving The Problem

To manually fix the issue, complete the following steps:
  1. Stop the AD Batch Server.
  2. Copy the <ADDI_installation_directory>\IBM Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence Extensions\adi611ifix1\server\conf\adi\collections\com.ibm.dimez.etl.app.pojo-20221122-0903.jar file into the <ADDI_installation_directory>\IBM Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence\IBM Application Discovery Batch Server\lib directory.
  3. Remember the original com.ibm.etl.app.pojo jar file name, for example, "com.ibm.etl.app.pojo-6.1.0.jar", and then delete the file.
  4. Rename the copied file with the saved file name, "com.ibm.etl.app.pojo-6.1.0.jar" in this example.
  5. Start the AD Batch Server.
  6. Navigate to https://localhost:9443/ad/admin/audit?tab=events and check if there's an audit event that comes from AD Batch Server after it is started. 
    Operation name: ADI Indexing finished with status Finished
    If not, rebuild the project from AD Build Client until you can find the preceding audit event.
When the issue is manually fixed as instructed, the data can be saved successfully into ADDI Extensions. Then you can go back to your workbook and define snippets.
