How to use FileNet Content Manager sweep management to move content

Question & Answer

Question

How do you create a Bulk Move Content Job in P8 CPE 5.2.1 to move content from one storage area to another?

Cause

If the existing storage area is full, content in the storage area can be moved to a new storage area to provide the existing storage with some space for performing back ups.

Answer

1. Start up ACCE > Navigate to the object store container

2. On the left panel, navigate and expand the Sweep Management container, then navigate and expand the Job Sweeps container, right click on the Bulk Move Content Jobs, select New Bulk Move Content Job

3. Bring up a New Bulk Move Content Job wizard

4. Enter the Display Name (Display Name must be unique), Description, select the Sweep mode, and check the Enable bulk move content job

5. Click Next

6. Provide the Target class by navigating to the Data Design and look for the class needed to paste the object.

Right click on the selected class, choose the Copy Object Reference

7. Go back to the Define Sweep Targets screen, click on the Paste Object button to paste the Target class, fill in the Filter expression, select the correct Storage policy names, check whether the "include subclasses", "End replication after move", "Record failures" need to be enabled

8. Click Next to the Define Bulk Move Content Job Dates screen

9. Leave Effective start date and Effective end date blank if the job needs to be run immediately.

Click Next to the Summary screen

Click on Finish

The Bulk Move Content Job will be running immediately
