How to use basic data types with AUTOSAR 4.x in IBM Rational Rhapsody

Question & Answer

Question

How do you use basic data types with AUTOSAR 4.x in IBM Rational Rhapsody

Cause

The basic data types can no longer be found in the AUTOSAR profiles as of version 4.0

Answer

This is related to the AUTOSAR standard's specs.
There is a reference that can help you understand the way types are defined in Rhapsody for AR 4.0.
In the AUTOSAR_40 profile there is an ARPackage named MXFTypes.

The basic types have not been added to the AUTOSAR 4.0 profile as these are not available for us.
Users are expected to describe the basic types they are using in their own ARXML files (sometimes it is dependent on the BSW's provider). This ARXML can be imported into Rhapsody and used by all models.
