How to trigger Item Based Allocation when future inventory is coming into the supply system.
Answer
Future Inventory may come into Sterling as document type 0005 (Purchase Order) or 0006 (Transfer Order).
The Buyer Supply Type can be decided by business on Purchase Order or Transfer Order creation. It can be defined in Status Inventory Types for each of these document types.
All these supplies will be listed in Global Inventory Visibility > Inventory Supply Types via the Configuration/Applications Manager.
To trigger Item Based Allocation trigger for any of these incoming supplies into the warehouses, activate the flag Trigger Item Based Allocation.
