Summary
Android management through Android Enterprise provides single use scenario's to help lock devices down. With this setup administrators can restrict these devices to one or several applications so that only a core set of functionality will be allowed on these devices. This integration will also allow administrators to set security restrictions such as preventing users from using additional applications along with navigating to other area's of the device.
Steps
In order to setup an Android device so that it can leverage COSU mode requires the device to be enrolled through Android Enterprise Device Owner mode. After the device is enrolled into MaaS360 a policy needs to be created to define the COSU management. In order to do this you would want to navigate into the Android policy and go under the Android Enterprise -- COSU (kiosk mode).
After navigating to the above section you will see a section for COSU Mode Type. This section will allow you to select two options:
- Show custom home page with allowed apps. This will allow you to create a kiosk setup referencing multiple applications.
- Automatically launch a required app and lock the device to display only this. This will launch the device into a single app mode and only run the one application on the device.
After applying the policy to the device this will enable the device to enter COSU mode to launch either of the two types of kiosk modes.
