Problem

How to set VERBOSE Level Trace during MCF version upgrade (migration)

Symptom

To determine the reason of failure during MCF version upgrade process a verbose log can prove to be a useful tool.

Resolving The Problem

Each step of migration is multi level process. The logs help in analyzing the level where the failure occurs. I.e. from MCF 7.3 to MCF 7.5 or MCF 7.5 to MCF 7.5 SP1 etc. A migration kit is provided with every new installation. (<Install_dir>\Migration folder)

To set VERBOSE level trace for a particular upgrade version, change the property as described below in the “buildmigration.properties” file available in the <Install_dir>\Migration\<Version> folder.

yfs.upgrade.traceLevel=VERBOSE

Default value of this property is set to TIMER.
