How can a user schedule a reports and send it by email in Cognos Analytics 11?
Answer
Sending a report by email requires that Cognos Analytics have a connection to an email server configured in Cognos Configuration. See the links at the end of this technote for documentation on configuring an email server in Cognos Analytics.
A schedule can be set in the properties of a report and the option to send by email is enabled in the delivery section of the schedule.
1. Go to the properties of the report. Click the Schedule tab.
2. Click the Create schedule button.
3. Specify frequency, repeat and interval options.
4. Specify start date and optional end date option.
5. Click the Options tab
6. Select report output formats to generate, HTML, PDF, Excel, etc.
7. In the Delivery section, check option Send report by email.
8. Click Edit details link to add recipients, customize email subject and body, and included link and attachment options.
9. If the report has prompts, click the Prompts tab to set prompt values to use when report is executed.
