Question
I installed C&DS with WebSphere Application Server Liberty and confirmed it starts normally when I run startServer.bat from Windows command-line prompt. Could you tell me how to run C&DS as Windows service?
Answer
Follow these steps to run C&DS as Windows service:
1. Open "C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Deployment\<version>\Server\wlp\usr\servers\cdsServer\server.env" and add the following line:
JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Deployment\<version>\Server\jre
2. Stop C&DS Repository Server by executing the following command at the command prompt
c:\> cd C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Deployment\<version>\Server\bin
c:\> stopServer.bat
3. Execute the following command to register CADS as a Windows service.
c:\> cd C:\IBM\SPSS\Deployment\<version>\Server\wlp\bin
c:\> server registerWinService cdsServer
4. Confirmed cdsServer service added to the list of Windows service. Set the Log On account to the Windows Administrator account.
5. Click Start Service button to start C&DS service. Wait for a while to ensure service is running. Confirm you can connect to C&DS repository server successfully.
