Question & Answer
Question
How to reset the instance ID of the DOORS DDBS service?
Answer
When we install multiple DOORS Server Services, each service is given a unique identifier (starting from 00001 ). The identifier is part of the Service name. This ID is incremented every time a new service is installed and in the case of a service being removed, the identifier is not reassigned. E.g., if you had installed 4 services ( 00001 - 00004 ) and removed all of them, the next service installation, by default, gets the identifier 00005 .
To reset the identifier follow the steps below:
-
Open Registry Editor from Start -> Run -> Regedit
-
Get to the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Telelogic -> DOORS_SERVER -> <version_number>
-
Edit the value of "instanceID" to have the id of the last undeleted service.
-
Delete the config0000x folders of the deleted services.
