Symptom

How to replace the database driver jar in MCF 8.0?

Resolving The Problem

Steps to replace the database driver jar in MCF 8.0 are:

1) Modify the following parameters in sandbox.cfg.

a) JDBC_DRIVER and b) DB_DRIVERS

2) Run the setupfiles.cmd from <INSTALL_DIR>/bin

This step will change the database driver.

3) Please verify the change in the following files:

Dynamicclasspath.cfg
APPDynamicclasspath.cfg
AGENTDynamicclasspath.cfg.

If dynamicclasspath.cfg or any other .cfg file has references to the old database driver, then the .cfg files and relevant .in file need to be manually updated. The .cfg file is generated again from .in file with every Hot Fix installation or upgrade.

The following step does the manual update (Use only if needed):

4) Change the dynamicclasspath.cfg.in file in the same folder where the dynamicclasspath.cfg is present. Make changes in APPDynamicclasspath.cfg and AGENTDynamicclasspath.cfg files and corresponding .in file as well.

5) Rebuild the EAR if running in EAR mode.
