Technical Blog Post
Abstract
How to: Redeliver a failed message for a Broadcast Route.
Body
When using a Broadcast Routing Channel Template it is possible for one route to fail and others to succeed. This blog will show you how to Redeliver the failed route(s).
The following screen shots are of a Broadcast Route that has failed to deliver a file to a consumer. As you will see 2 other Routes were successful.
**NOTE: if Redeliver is initiated from the following screen all Broadcast Consumers will receive the file again** :
The following screen shows you that if you highlight the failed route, 2 additional tabs will appear (Route and Delivery):
By clicking on the Route tab, you will see the consumers that were sent the Broadcast message. It shows the status of all of the broadcast consumers:
With the Failed route highlighted, click on the Delivery tab to see the following screen. This is the individual Route that failed for consumer BroadcastConsumer3:
Now right click the Failed Route to see the “Redeliver selected Arrived File/s” pop up box:
After clicking the Redeliver pop up box, it will ask for a comment. Enter a comment and hit Redeliver:
A new pop up box will appear telling you that the file was successfully initiated for Redeliver (It does not mean the file was successfully resent):
If the issue, that caused the initial route to fail, has been corrected it should reflect it in the existing Arrived File Screen like below:
Stepping through the tabs should reveal it worked:
Notice the Delivery Time on the Delivery tab reflects the original failed time and not the newly delivered time? At the time of the writing of this blog this was being looked at by development:
The Delivery Events for the redelivered file should show the initial failure, the comment you added when it was initiated for Redelivery, a message stating it is being Re-Delivered, and the final message of “Delivery is now Complete” :
That is all you need to do.
