How do you open OLE Objects in native application in Windows 2008 machine from IBM Rational DOORS when the OLEs are displayed as editable information in the Module?
Cause
Because of rich text feature being enabled in Microsoft Windows 2008 machine, Rational DOORS opens the OLE objects which are displayed as editable information within the Rational DOORS module and not in the native application.

Below mentioned steps will help you in adding customized menu buttons in the Rational DOORS module, which will help you to open the OLE Objects in the native application:
- Paste the formalCallbacks.dxl file (see the attachment) in the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.3\lib\dxl\startupFiles
- Paste the customFormal.dxl file (see the attachment) in the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.3\lib\dxl\config\formalFiles
- Launch Rational DOORS, Open the module and Navigate to View > Customize Toolbars
- Select Sample Button in Available Toolbars Section
- Click Close
- Now, select the OLE Object and click on Sample Button Icon which will be displayed in the Toolbar section to openthe OLE Object in the native application
