Question & Answer
Question
How do you configure your IBM® Rational® DOORS® client machine to use a different license server for obtaining a license?
Answer
To point to a different license server you will need to change the license environment variable
named TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE
named TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE
Steps to modify the license setting:
- Click Start
- Right-click on My Computer
- Click Properties In the pop up window
- Select the Advanced tab in the System Properties Window
- Click Environment Variables
- Scroll to the entry: TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE in the list of System variables
- Double click the variable to edit the value
- Click OK when the value changes are completed to close the variable editor window
- Click OK to close the Environment Variables window
- Click OK to close the System Properties window
The license variable can point to multiple license servers; just separate the entries using semicolons.
Example: TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE=19353@license_server1;19353@license_server2
In case of a redundant license server configuration, the license server entries are separated by a comma.
Example: TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE=27000@primary_server,27000@secondary_server,27000@tertiary_server
