How Do I Set Devices as Inactive & View Inactive Devices?
Answer
- Open the Device Inventory Page (Devices > Inventory) and locate the device wanted.
- Select More > Hide. If you cannot see this option, open the Device Record and Cancel any pending commands.
- After you Hide a device it is set as inactive. You can view your inactive devices within the Device Inventory Page (Devices > Inventory), click the ‘Managed Status’ column header and select ‘inactive.’ If you do not see this column, select ‘Customize Columns’ at the bottom of the page to include it.
- Hiding a Device and marking it as inactive also releases the devices License. You can follow the steps here to Hide devices by Group or Automatically.
- If a Device is marked as inactive but becomes Active again without being re-enrolled, you could exceed your allowed License Count. It is recommended to attempt Removing Control or Wiping a device before Hiding.
