Similar to any other object in Maximo, Inspections leverage the business objects defined in database configuration. These business objects can be used with Migration Manager to accomplish the task.

"Application export and import" features are only enabled in regular Maximo applications (not work centers). The criteria to show an object structure in the app is to have the base object as the root object in the object structure definition.

Since there are no legacy applications in Maximo that use the INSPECTIONFORM object, the application export and import cannot be supported.

There are some alternative ways to achieve the same result:

1) Go to Application Designer and create a custom application for the InspectionForm object. In this custom application, you could enable application import and export for Inspection Forms.

2) Use the External System application with publish channel and enterprise services pointing to an object structure containing INSPECTIONFORM object. These would behave mostly the same as application import and export as well.

Recommendation around Object Structures:

• MXAPIINSPFORM is the one used by the Manage Inspection Forms work center to create and manage existing forms. You can either start duplicating this one and removing unneeded objects like doclinks, for example, as well as managing any alias conflict if the intent is to use flat text structures like CSV
• When using exporting and importing, always include all revisions of the same form in the proper order, otherwise it will try to include a revision of something that might not exist and might fail
• IJ28868 addresses an issue involving Migration Manager. This issue was reported on Nov 19, 2020 and it would be good to have this interim fix installed in the environment.
