Question
How do you export contents of IBM ERM DOORS module to spreadsheet, make changes and import it?
Cause
New objects are created when the spreadsheet is imported back into DOORS instead of updating the existing objects
Answer
Procedure:
- Create a new view with the list of attributes that needs to be exported.
- Rename the ID column to Object Identifier
- Remove the main column which contains Object Text and Object Heading. If you would like to have these columns in the view, then insert them as two separate columns.
- Export this view to spreadsheet. Click here for more details on exporting to Excel.
- Edit data in the spreadsheet as required.
- Import the spreadsheet back to Rational DOORS using File -> Import -> Spreadsheet option.
NOTE : If there are any new columns that are present in the spreadsheet then create attributes with the same name when the dialog box appears during the import of spreadsheet.
