Steps to enable and record an RSVP trace for Cognos Analytics 11.x

1. Navigate to the ‘configuration’ folder of your Cognos installation directory in Windows Explorer (file path: \cognos_install\configuration).

2. Within the ‘configuration’ folder, locate the file named ‘rsvpproperties.xml.sample’. Make a copy of this file and save it in the same folder before renaming it ‘rsvpproperties.xml’.

3. Open the newly created ‘rsvpproperties.xml’ file and locate the following segment:

<value type="long">0</value>-->

4. Edit the segment detailed in step 3 by removing the comment syntax and changing the ‘0’ to a ‘1’:

<property>RecordingsEnabled</property>
<value type="long">1</value>

5. Save the ‘rsvpproperties.xml’ file and restart your Cognos Analytics 11 service.

6. After the restart is complete, replicate the issue.

7. Navigate to the ‘\cognos_install\temp\rsvp’ location and compressed the RSVP folder. Attach .zip file to case.

8. Turn off the trace by revert the changes.
