How do you update UPS Zone info in DCS 6.2 SP3 or later?

Troubleshooting

Problem

How do you update UPS Zone info in DCS 6.2 SP3 or later?

Symptom

PART: Carrier Server 6.2 SP3 DCS

We are shipping UPS, but the incorrect Zone is being selected, causing incorrect Freight Charges.

Cause

Resolving The Problem

Since YCS was developed, UPS Zone information is now stored in YCS table YCS_CARRIER_ZONE.

Sterling does not provide a script to update these tables out of the box, because the data is different, depending on the ZIP code of the warehouse. You can get the Zone info by going to www.ups.com. There is a section of the site where you can enter your source ZIP code, and you will receive a spreadsheet with the zone information.

Customer can either save the spreadsheet as a comma-separated (.csv) or tab-delimited (.tab) text file, and write a PL/SQL script to read this file and import the information into the YCS_CARRIER_ZONE table, or it can be updated manually through most database clients.

See the "Carrier Zone Setup" topic ("Customizing the Inserted Data for Carrier Zone Setup") in DCS Help for more details.
